____Committees__

Nominating Committee

The Nominating Committee is responsible for discerning and recommending individuals to serve in roles of responsibility within the Meeting. Guided by careful listening and prayerful attention, the committee seeks to match the gifts and leadings of Friends with the needs of the community. This work is grounded in our belief that all members have something to offer and that faithful service is part of our spiritual life together.

Communications & Outreach Committee

This committee helps the Meeting share its message — both within our community and with the wider world. They maintain the website, social media, and other forms of communication to ensure information is clear, timely, and accessible. Outreach efforts include welcoming newcomers and helping seekers learn more about Quaker faith and practice. The committee serves as a bridge between our witness and our presence in the broader community.

Ministry & Counsel

Ministry & Counsel holds spiritual care for the Meeting community. The committee supports the depth and integrity of Meeting for Worship, nurtures vocal ministry, and offers pastoral care to individuals and families. It also carries concern for the health of the community — attending to both joys and sorrows — and helps uphold the Quaker testimonies in our shared life. Members of this committee are guided by deep listening, love, and a commitment to the well-being of the Meeting.

Peace & Social Witness

The Peace & Social Witness Committee helps the Meeting live out our testimonies in the world — especially those of peace, equality, and justice. This committee supports action, reflection, and education around local and global issues, and may organize events, partnerships, or statements that reflect our faith in action. Guided by Spirit, they help the Meeting bear witness to the Light in every person and work toward a more just and compassionate world.

Children’s Meeting (First Day School)

Children’s Meeting offers a welcoming space for young people to explore spiritual life through stories, play, reflection, and connection. Rooted in the same values as Meeting for Worship, First Day School encourages curiosity, kindness, and the inner Light in every child. Volunteers guide age-appropriate activities that may include Quaker history, testimonies, and time in nature — helping children feel part of the community while honoring their unique voices and experiences.

House Committee (Interior)

The House Committee cares for the physical space of the Meetinghouse, tending to its upkeep with a spirit of stewardship and gratitude. From maintenance and repairs to creating a clean, welcoming environment, this committee helps preserve the Meetinghouse as a place of peace, worship, and community — just as generations of Friends have done before us.

Hospitality Committee

The Hospitality Committee fosters connection and fellowship by organizing simple refreshments after Meeting for Worship and helping with special gatherings. In the Quaker spirit of community and care, this committee creates a warm and welcoming environment where newcomers and longtime attenders alike can feel at home and enjoy time together.

Library Committee

The Library Committee helps maintain and grow the Meeting’s collection of spiritual, historical, and Quaker-related materials. By offering books and resources for all ages, the library supports ongoing learning, reflection, and exploration of Quaker faith and practice.
